UPCOMING EVENTS:

SEPTEMBER 2010:

The 2010 Chestnut Ridge Centennial

Come celebrate the centennial of Glassboro’s first planned development! In the early 1900s, developers purchased land west of the West Jersey & Seashore Line and planned Glassboro’s first residential subdivision on acres cleared to provide firewood for the town’s glass furnaces. In 1910, advertisements appeared in Philadelphia newspapers touting building lots for large, multi-story homes on “The Chestnut Ridge Estates” in Glassboro.  South Jersey’s newest neighborhood was conveniently located within walking distance of the railway station with trains serving Philadelphia daily. Subsequent development in the 1920’s and 1950’s added to the architectural variety and diversity of the 32-block neighborhood, but most of the original homes are still in use today.

ANGELS OF GOD CLOTHING CLOSET

HELP US COLLECT SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND CLOTHING

My name is Katelyn Eystad. I am a 7th grader at the Pitman Middle School. I am currently running a clothing closet for the needy. I have named it, "Angels of God Clothing Closet".

Through my mission, "Angels of God", I hope to help disadvantaged people by providing clothing, toiletries, and other needed items.

Angels of God is collecting school supplies with the hopes of helping area children in need.

For some families, the return to school is dreaded. The need to buy supplies and clothes at a time when there is little money puts a stain on families.

Because of the tough economic times, Angels of God is asking businesses, churches, fraternities and sororities, civic and social groups to join forces with us and assist by providing school supplies and clothing to those in need.

Help make a difference and have your business participate in this project.

Please contact us at (856) 625-8652 / www.angelsofgod.org

We are always accepting the following donations.

* Clothing of all sizes and gender in new or gently used condition.

* Toiletries - New soaps, deodorant, toothpaste, tooth brushes, creams, shampoos etc.

* Other- New or gently used toys, videos / DVD’s.

* Monetary Donation- Make a monetary donation towards this outreach project.
